home...

Where do you call home when your heart is stretched over the world and left with some many people?

Every place I go I feel like a little bit of her heart is left there. I love people. I love green grass. I love children and finding a new village to call my own family.

It's hard being "home" because I had to jump right into a crazy lifestyle of recreation, planning, leadership roles, and family camp. On most trips I come home - look over my pictures and sit on my memories before ever sharing them. This trip I wasn't given that time and I don't like it. My England trip deserves that time and I haven't been given that opportunity yet. There is a chair effect here. Since I haven't had that time I'm not really ready to fully share but I'll get over it. The other thing is that New Zealand is in two weeks... I'm not quite over England yet... so I'm not giving my focus on New Zealand. But will have to soon.

Will I go back? I would love to. Maybe for summer, for school, for fun. I don't know when or how but do know I want to go back... soon. I miss the village. AND speaking of... I got a letter this week!!! It's a short one but it warmed my heart to the brim. I MISS YOU TOO HANNAH!!

How could this not make you melt? I don't care if it's only three lines and 7 words long, it's the thought that counts and I promise that a letter will be in the mail soon. So here's me missing Turnchapel in all it's glory. I miss you. xxxx - megan

Blue and Toby

this is one of my all time favorite pictures that I took on my trip .
These dogs are owned by Fred. They really have no loyalty. Really it goes to whoever feeds and walks them. With that said I would say that Paul is their favorite as of now. Blue and Toby are indapendent and do what they like. They are hunters. Their breed is of a nomadic nature in deserts. They have webbed paws not for swimming but for sand. Toby is sooo fast but when you let him off lead on sand, he is a blur. They love running on sand. This is one of the reasons why when Paul and I would go for walks we would always go to the coast and take the dogs with us. Toby in the house is a push over and very calm but outside you should lock up your cats and I was told that he even caught a sea gull once (that's how fast he is). He also is like a hot water bottle and radiates heat. Blue is just a mess and very hyper. She is very vocal as well. Blue cracks me up because she just wants to play. The funniest thing about her is when you are sitting on the beach and then all of a sudden Blue comes up to you trying to drag a LOG in your lap. It doesn't matter what the size she will pull or carry it. In the house Blue tries to be a lap dog and it's really funny because she is just too big. They were great fun to have around and I miss them too.

Tide Pools

Paul took me to the local surfers spot one day. There is a church right on the hill above and it's THE PLACE to get married because of the breath taking view. There is only a little beach located in the area and not much room for the dogs to run. We decided to turn to our left since Paul had never walked that way before and explore. I'm very glad we did this because what we found was priceless.

We walked over lots of rocks and to start out I would see tiny little pools of water stuck in the rock but as we walked the pools began to grow in size. Soon enough we found all kinds of different tide pools. Some you could have swam in, some were more like puddles. Regardless of the size they were full of life. It was only a matter of time before both Paul and I were sitting beside a pool exploring. I found myself reaching for a rocks and slowly turning them over to see what I could find. At some point I laughed at myself because I expected to find crawdads and salamanders. I didn't find anything like that but we did find crabs, shrimp, fish, hermit crabs, crustations, snails, sea weed, AND starfish! I don't think the dogs had much fun walking on the pointed rocks but Paul and I were acting like little kids playing in this secret world that only we could find. I've always wanted to explore and find a place like this. Every pool was different and you had to stop and see what you could find. I think this is a top favorite place that I went.
